During 2023 and 2024, Melbourne endured a sustained wave of fire bombings targeting tobacconists as part of the tobacco wars. It is alleged that many of these early fires were lit or tasked by Malaki Salesui and members of The Finks and Rebels OMCGs, eventually acting on behalf of Sam Abdulrahim. Even in mid-2026, Malaki Salesui is alleged to retain very deep involvement in a range of ongoing criminal matters across the city, with connections to other figures detailed across our previous reporting.
