Iraqi authorities revealed on Tuesday the capture of a highly notorious international drug smuggler and tobacco kingpin, Kazem “Kaz” Hamad who now faces charges for a range of grave offenses, amid intensified national campaigns to curb the rising tide of illegal narcotics.
The Iraqi National Center for International Judicial Cooperation stated that the arrest followed key authorisations from the Supreme Judicial Council to initiate probes against Hamad. Legal actions have now commenced at Baghdad's First Karkh Investigation Court.
