On April the 29th this year Hanson unveiled a Cirrus aircraft and called it sexy. The Guardian newspaper men reported the aircraft was gifted to the party through one of Rinehart's companies, not as a personal present that slips the disclosure net, and put the retail figure above $1.5 million. The same day she thanked Angus and Sarah Aitken for a $1 million "investment" in herself, Malcolm Roberts, Sean Bell, Tyron Whitten, Barnaby Joyce and future candidates, and named Adam Giles and Ian Plimer at $500,000 each. Giles runs Hancock Agriculture. Plimer is an executive director at Hancock Energy. Reuters later put Aitken's commitment at $1.1 million, and noted he had given the Liberals $230,000 the year before he jumped. A Hancock spokesperson told the Guardian the plane came via a company. A later property note shows a Rinehart company, WNM MacDonald Pty Ltd, lodged a security interest in it.
