Hundreds if not thousands of mourners gathered at Fawkner Memorial Park yesterday, for the traditional Shia Muslim funeral of Hussein "Huss" Dehaini.

Under grey Melbourne skies, the cemetery grounds were packed with men in dark jackets, hoodies and caps standing shoulder to shoulder. Images obtained exclusively by Outlaw Media show the scale of the turnout clearly - dense crowds lining pathways, many with hands raised as they recited "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un" during the prayers, others standing in quiet reflection as the rites were observed. The grave site itself drew a tight circle of mourners, a final mark of respect for a man who commanded loyalty in life.
